Pen’s Prayer of Confidence #NaPoWriMo

The passion in my heart fuels my desire and ambition

Revives my mind’s condition

And I can let go of inhibitions

And preconceived notions

Of lack in confidence

Which affects my mind’s resilience

But

Instilled

Is a will

In my heart

That: I am set apart

For goodness and greatness

That I am pre-destined and pre-determined

To walk in the truth and light

Of my calling

As my heart and mind are in alignment

No longer in confinement

I acknowledge my heart’s compassion

And mindfully carry out His will with passion.

With paper and pen I say Amen.

Calling all poets! April is National Poetry Writing Month -- NaPoWriMo for short. Modeled after National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), NaPoWriMo is an annual project encouraging poets to write one poem each day in April.

We love discovering poetry in the Reader and are proud of the poets who call WordPress.com their online home, like Pushcart-nominated poet Kellie Elmore. If you're an established or aspiring poet, or want to dabble in…

30 Poems, 30 Days: NaPoWriMo Has Begun!

Tuesday #NaPoWriMo

A day filled with delusion and confusion
Heart felt persuasion, mindful consideration
How can one day contain such conversation
Death in one
Destruction in another
Mind speaks ‘why bother’

Eyes to the skies
Spirit intercedes
Peace re-convenes
Sunset low
Temperature ditto
Air is clear
Conversation unclear
The only thing that defines today
Is that it’s Tuesday.

Beyond The Magazine – iPad magazine app now out on iTunes

I have recently had the pleasure of working with the lovely, creative, graphic/web designer, hip-hop loving, nerd coding blogger that is Amma – aka BeyondBeyond – who has just released Beyond The Magazine free iPad app. It’s kind of tulle meets tech, photographic wedding wonder which will pretty up your iPad. Look out for pieces with Mark Niemerko and Fourth & Main by yours truly ;o) and pieces featuring Lily Vanilli, Rock n Roll Bride, The State of Grace, Alice Made This and Pronovias. There is fabulous photography and something for the fellas in there too.

Enjoy

If you’re not doing what you desire…it’s time to make a change and make things happen

It’s a new year, it’s a new start. We’re given a new slate, in the shape of a new calendar where we can start afresh. Whatever happened last year is sooo last year – only what was good will you permit yourself to carry forward into your new beginning. It’s a good time to start. But just so you know, you don’t have to wait until 1st January to start again, to make a resolution, to create some goals – you just need to start! What is your passion? What drives you? Are you doing what you want to do and if not, why not? I saw a video posted by Ruprecht Studios on Facebook and it resonated with me. No less because I don’t want to be that person that watches the world and time go by, I want to make every second I have count, I want to make my dreams come true, I want to inspire a generation and I want my positive contribution to the world around me aspire to do the same – after all we have one life, one world, why waste it? The time for your new beginning is now.

Have a watch of the video here.

An Exhibition

A co-ordinated gathering of art pieces made accessible to individuals to engage with... it is extremely problematic to attempt to define an exhibition, in terms related to this course, without immediately encountering areas of critical debate.

An exhibition is an intrinsically mediated experience: a ticket is purchased online (now retrievable via a smartphone), an audioguide is offered to compliment and guide the visitor, content can take on a variety of forms- from pictures, to installations to video; and an assortment of paraphernalia is available for purchase at the 'end'.

Stop and Search app – review

It can happen to anyone regardless of age, gender or race. The police can stop and search any individual if they suspect that person may be involved in an incident, carrying drugs or a dangerous weapon that could be used to commit a crime or cause criminal damage.

Stop and Search has been a seriously contentious issue creating a lot of confusion. People who face the Stop and Search process by the police can often find it overwhelming and in many instances have been treated unfairly. Now a new app has been developed to help people who find themselves on the wrong end of Stop and Search.

The app’s developers Aaron Sonson, Satwant Singh Kenth and Gregory Paczkowski have all been stopped and searched several times and during those instances were not aware of their own rights let alone the correct procedure the police should follow. They developed the app to provide more awareness and knowledge for Stop and Search. The app has three key features – know your rights, upload and rate experience and view local stops.

The Know your Rights section is designed in a comic book interactive format which details the stages of stop and account and stop and search in a clear and definitive manner. In the section of Upload and Rate of the app users are able to comment on their treatment by the police officer. Using GPS the user is able to tag the stop and search incident. The final section of the app details a map where stops and searches have been made, and ratings made in a 10-mile radius of the location found via GPS. The app does not collect personal data of the user and is independent of the police.

This app is simple and tells you all you need to know about Stop and Search. Stop and Search app is available for download on Blackberry App World and coming soon to Android and iPhone. Further information on the app can be found here.  For a full definition of Stop and Search you can visit Metropolitan Police’s website here.
